I was looking for a site that gave me information on a Henderson family crest and came upon this site. My husbands paternal grandfather was adopted by Henderson's in the early 1890's and we've all been Henderson's since that point. His name was Lester Washburn Stockwell Henderson, biological parents were Frank Stockwell and Nellie Irish Stockwell. Frank was killed in an accident, Nellie got ill and the children were taken in by friends and family. Pete Henderson and his wife, cannot remember her name, took Lester in. They had three daughters, older at this time, no sons. Lester was a toddler. The other brothers and sisters remained in the area and as they grew up, until they all died, they stayed in contact. However, there was no contact maintained with the adopting parents or sisters, which we find very odd. Trying to find out information on them. Information I have found on older daughters of Pete Henderson: Nellie married Stephan Weston on August 9, 1891, in Florence County, Wisconsin; Bessie Lee Henderson married (don't have his name) on August 20, 1879 in Rock County, Wisconsin; Linda May Henderson married (don't have his name) March 1, 1899 in Jackson County, Wisconsin. Will try to find the spouses names. I have it, just can't locate it right this minute. I'm thinking Pete or Peters wife's name was Katharine, but not sure. Any of this sound familiar to you? We all live in south Texas, there are a lot of us, wondering if we are any kin to your group. Thanks! Theresa Henderson

This poem inspires and reminds me of "Snook" every time I read it.
